How Do the Images of Scientists in Secondary School Science Textbooks Affect Students’ Perceptions of Scientists?

This study aims to reveal whether there are any relations between secondary school students' perceptions of scientists and the images in science textbooks. The participants were 140 students from a public school. is based on qualitative research methodology. Qualitative methods used research. As data collection tools, Draw Scientist Test (DAST) textbooks used. drawings obtained analyzed context determined themes. result study, it was that generally drew scientist as male, thoughtful, wearing lab coat glasses, young, with long curly hair. It has been observed express their working environment people who work alone laboratory library environment. also stands out they benefit computers other technological apparatus like telescopes. mostly included Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, Albert Einstein at each grade level famous scientists. made by influenced
